Location:

Classes are held at the Church of the Brethren in the Wiles Hill Area of Morgantown. The address is 464 Virginia Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505. (Note: Parents' Place is a non-denominational organization and is not associated with the church.)

 

Hours:

The children are in class from 9:30-11:30am. Classes are held Monday - Thursday with members attending 1 or 2 days a week, depending on availability. Parents stay in the "Parent's Room" while their children are in class and are provided opportunities to socialize with other moms, as well as take part in various programs that are offered throughout the year (yoga, etc.) The program is not organized for child drop-offs and at least one parent or guardian is required to stay on the premises during class for diaper changes, etc.

 

What do the children do in class?

The children participate in typical preschool activities such as crafts, songs, snacks, story time and free play. We have recently established a new mission statement for our 3- and 4- year old rooms to put more emphasis on social and academic Kindergarten readiness.

Pricing (New for 2011-2012)

Application Fee: $30 for 1st child, $20 for 2nd child, $10.00 for each add'l child.
Membership Fee: $30 per family, per semester
Tuition: $10 tuition per day for the 1st child; $5 per day for each additional child (No charge for infants staying with parents in the parent room.)

Example #1: One child attending one day a week (To calculate the price for one child, attending two days, double the tuition.)

  • Fees: $90 ($30 application, $30 fall membership, $30 spring membership)
  • Tuition for fall (estimated 12 weeks at $10.00 per day): $120.00
  • Tuition for spring (estimated 18 weeks): $180.00
  • Total for the year: $390.00

 

Example #2: Two children attending one day a week (To calculate the price for two children attending two days, double the tuition.)

  • Fees: $110 ($50 application, $30 fall membership, $30 spring membership)
  • Tuition for fall (estimated 12 weeks at $15.00 per day): $180
  • Tuition for spring (estimated 18 weeks): $270
  • Total for year: $560

 

Fundraising:

In addition to tuition, members are asked to meet fundraising requirements to keep tuition costs low and cover the organizations operating expenses. Many opportunities exist throughout the year to meet the individual fundraising goal through such activities as grocery cards, magazine sales and a silent auction. If members do not wish to participate in fundraising or are unable to meet their goal, they must pay off their remaining balance at the end of the school year. Fundraising requirements are as follows (all amounts are given for a full year of attendance): 1 child/1 day - $110, 1 child/2 days or 2 children/1 day - $165, 2 children/2 days - $220.
