Welcome!
Parents' Place is a completely parent-run, non-profit organization that provides educational programming and support to preschool children ages one to five, and their parents.
Located in Morgantown, WV, we operate out of the Spruce Street Church as of September, 2023 (Parents' Place is a non-religious organization, however, and is not affiliated with the church). Currently, around 40 families participate in our program.
We operate Monday through Thursday, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Members attend a minimum of one day per week, a maximum of three.
Our program offers a truly unique experience, which benefits both children and their parents. Unlike traditional drop-off preschools or daycares, while our children attend “class” we congregate in the Parents Room.

Why choose our non-drop off preschool program?
For your children:
Children gain independence being in a classroom setting without Mom or Dad but if they are needed at any point during class, they are always available. This approach can be a more gentle way to introduce your child to the joys of a school atmosphere. Our teaching staff provides a caring and safe environment in which our children can develop socially and work on their cognitive and gross/fine motor skills. They build confidence, make friends, create, and most importantly, play! Each age group’s curriculum and each of those activities are infused with basic preschool concepts (i.e., colors, letters, numbers, reading and writing). See samples of each class’s curriculum in the Meet Our Teachers section. |
For the parents:
For parents, this is a great opportunity to take a break from the demands of parenting and seek support from others. Many of our members’ closest friendships began at Parents’ Place! Many (but not all) of our families have at least one parent that stays home and these parents are typically the ones that attend the programs. Whether it is helping plan activities or fundraisers, being in the classrooms to aid teachers, or just offering an ear and advice to a fellow parent, having a focus outside of our stay-at-home duties provides many of us with a sense of accomplishment. We also bring in outside organizations and businesses to present on various topics that relate to parenting. |
